Statement of the Aims and Principles of the Fórum do Anarquismo Organizado (FAO), approved at the 2010 National Meeting, held recently in Porto Alegre.
The Fórum do Anarquismo Organizado (Forum of Organized Anarchism - FAO) has existed since 2002 and up to 2010 was a space for networking among individuals, groups and anarchist organizations who agree with two main themes: organization and "social insertion" (work within mass movements). These two bases provided us with theoretical and practical foundations over these past eight years; struggling to organize and organizing to struggle were the slogans used to gather together militants and guide our groups and organizations. Since January 2010, construction workers in Quebec have been working without a contract . Nevertheless , as many bosses as unions had announced in October 2009 , exemplary negotiations that would be settled by the due date of collective agreements. Practically nine months later , workers in shipyards have yet signed agreements and the situation is becoming increasingly tense.

Veinte días llevan los 33 obreros de la mina San José, en las inmediaciones de Copiapó (Región de Atacama), atrapados bajo la tierra por un derrumbe, soportando el calor infernal de Atacama en un ambiente cerrrado y recibiendo medicinas y alimentos líquidos gracias a un ducto. Mientras todo el país pensaba que no había ninguna esperanza de encontrarlos con vida, gracias a una perforación se logró establecer el contacto con ellos y las autoridades y la patronal, que han tenido a la opinión pública indignada en su contra, pudieron gozar de un cierto alivio. Sin embargo, que nuestros compañeros estén con vida y la enorme alegría que eso significa, no debe hacernos olvidar que acá existen responsabilidades muy claras que no pueden ser evadidas con alusiones a la Providencia o a la suerte de que, por ahora, no hayan muertos. Por ello, hemos sostenido una conversación con tres dirigentes obreros ligados o cercanos a esta tragedia para conocer su opinión sobre las responsabilidades de la patroanl y de las autoridades, así como también sobre las acciones que los trabajadores chilenos puedebn tomar para evitar que tragedias evitables como esta puedan en el futuro seguir enlutando hogares obreros. Alasbarricadas interview Shalif Ilan, a veteran Israeli anarchist activist. We discuss in this interview his views on the situation in Palestine-Israel, following the attack on the Freedom Flotilla, and the latest developments in those lands. The situation there is very interesting for anarchist action, since, as Ilan himself said:

"No one would expect that anarchists could lead the main struggle of the radical left of a country. Nowhere in the world the anarchist confront state forces in a non-violent, week after week, gradually extending the scope. .. and still walk free, even if sometimes few of us are detained for a few hours... or a day or two in rare cases. No one would expect that the fundamentalists of Hamas will support in public the united struggle with the Jewish anarchists atheists. No one would expect the popularity of, and the media attention given to a few dozen anarchist activists, who in less than seven years changed the meaning of the label "anarchist" to the public. No one would expect the Israeli repressive machinery apparatus had to treat the anarchists' activity as the legendary mosquitoes." Ilan Shalif, August 3, 2007. Alasbarricadas entrevista a Ilan Shalif, veterano activista anarquista israelí. Nos comentará en esta entrevista sus opiniones sobre la situación de Palestina-Israel tras el ataque a la Flotilla de la Libertad, y los últimos acontecimientos que se viven en aquellas tierras. La situación allí resulta muy interesante para la acción anarquista, ya que, como dice el propio Ilan:

"Nadie esperaría que lxs anarquistas pudieran liderar la principal lucha de la izquierda radical de un país. En ningún lugar del mundo lxs anarquistas se enfrentan a las fuerzas del estado de una forma no violenta, semana tras semana, extendiendo gradualmente el campo de acción... y aún así caminar libres, incluso aunque nos detengan a algunx de nosotrxs durante algunas horas o un día o dos. Nadie esperaría que los fundamentalistas de Hamas apoyaran en público la lucha unitaria con los anarquistas judíos ateos. Nadie esperaría la popularidad y la atención que los medios prestan hacia unas pocas docenas de activistas anarquistas que en menos de 7 años cambiaron el significado de la etiqueta "anarquista" ante la opinión pública. In July 1914, the Shanghai Association of Anarchist Communist Comrades published its statement of principles, concluding with the resolution that, "the implementation of anarchist communism depends on the strength of our party. If we wish to increase our party's strength, uniting as a whole body and advancing together is our most important task today. Wherever they are, all our comrades should unite with those who share the same purposes and establish groups in free association.” The key member of this group was a Chinese anarchist known as Shifu who was to die a mere nine months later.
